Shahmirzad or Shamerza (Persian: شهميرزاد یا شامرزا ) is a sleepy mountain village located 150 miles northeast of Tehran, Iran. The village is located in the province of Semnan. The village is noted for its acres of Walnut trees and fortress that overlooks the city. The fortress is a centuries old relic of the past that many Shahmirzadis take great pride in. The village also produces its own mineral water "Tenab Shahmirzad".

The population fluctuates from 8,000 in winter to 40,000 people during summer. Shahmirzad has a very fine climate and is a suitable summer resort for tourists.

Numerous Shahmirzadis have immigrated to the United States, most notably in California (from San Francisco-Bay area, Los Angeles to Irvine in south Orange county).

Regarding the origins of people of Shahmirzad, the most circulated story among Shahmirzadis and the people of neighboring towns indicates that Shahmirzadis are descendants of exiles from the historical Sham.

Shahmirzadis speak Shahmirzadi or Shamerzai (teh tokeh dor) which is, clearly distinguishable from other languages of the region.
